4 Things That Define Our Life: Thoughts, Feelings, Actions, Results | FinCalC

Personal Finance and Personal Development goes hand-in-hand. Taking care of your Personal Finance is directly related to taking care of your Personal Development.

Let's think about the situation when we get very angry because of someone and we tend to forget how we are behaving with the people around us.

  • We get all kinds of Negative Thoughts about the person we are angry with.
  • We get Bad Feelings about that person.
  • It results in Bad Actions from our side like firing the person or behaving rudely with others
  • This results in Unfortunate Results that we didn't desire to have if we were in good mood

Try to connect the points highlighted above.

Thoughts > Feelings > Actions > Results

This is the basic principle of life. What we Think, make us Feel good or bad about it. If we feel good, we take good productive Actions (bad Actions in case of bad Feelings). Good or Bad Actions results in corresponding Good or Bad Results.

Just like how we saw when we get angry, our mind tends to generate all negative Thoughts which makes us feel bad about our current situation. This results in bad Actions which produces bad Results.

It is not that we cannot control or avoid these bad Results. We can control it. We can control anything in OUR lives. What we cannot control is CIRCUMSTANCES. Here, circumstances meaning people. We cannot control them. We cannot control the way they think, feel or take actions. But we can control OUR thoughts and feelings.

In order to feel good, we need to feed good thoughts to our mind. Our mind is a powerful tool of our body. What we feed to our mind results in the similar output that we get from our mind.

So, in order to be happy and feel good about our life, we need to have and think about good thoughts. What are the ways of feeding good thoughts to our mind?

1. MEDITATION

Meditation is proved to be one of the best ways to control our mind and body. It helps us to clear our mind from all the negativities and think about positives in our life.

"All of humanity's problems stem from man's inability to sit quietly in a room alone - Blaise Pascal"

You can meditate just by sitting alone for 5 minutes without thinking about anything else going on in your life. This 5-minute session is for you to concentrate on your mind and make yourself believe that everything is alright. Just close your eyes and relax.

2. Wake Up EARLY

The best time to meditate is in morning, which takes us to the second way of feeling good, that is to wake up early. Studies have shown that most of the successful people are successful because they wake up early to complete most of their day's work when the entire world is in deep sleep.

Join the 5 AM club and start working on your day's tasks. This is the time when nobody is there around to disturb you and you make the best use of this time. So plan accordingly and use this time effectively to increase your productivity.

"Increase productivity by joining 5 AM club and having a 5 to 10 minute meditation session followed by your day's work, when there are minimum to no distractions."

3. Clear Your Desk

You won't feel good when you wake up early in morning and see several beer bottles on your work desk. Clear your surroundings and keep your environment clean in order to feed clear thoughts to your mind.

Keeping things organized on your work desk is proved to increase productivity. Have a minimalistic mind and keep less material things on your desk to enjoy maximum productivity.

4. Choose Your Friends Wisely

This one is important. You need to surround yourself with positive people in your life in order to get positive thoughts in your mind.

"You are the average of 4-5 people you be with throughout your day"

Be with like-minded people and enjoy their company. Surround yourself with people who talk about ideas and not about others.

This would really help you grow as a person.
