- Measures To Make NPS Attractive
NPS (National Pension Scheme) is a Saving-scheme in India that allows a maximum Deduction of Rs. 50,000 to be claimed under Section 80CCD. But it has been observed that people of India are not investing in this Scheme actively due to its long-term blocking period, since it is a Retirement Scheme. Some steps can be taken which might be announced in Budget 2018 to make NPS more attractive. - Lowering Tax Slab Rate - 20% to 10%
We have seen a decrease in Tax Slab Rate from 10% to 5% in Budget 2017 last Year. It was one of the Good changes many people appreciated. We might expect the same thing happening again with 20% Slab Rate this Year. People of India won't mind if such similar thing happen again. - Increase in Section 80C Limit
Majority of people are talking about this increase in the limit of Investment under Section 80C from Rs. 1,50,000 to Rs. 2,00,000. This might be one of the very important changes if it happens, and would be highly appreciated by the people of India. This change along with 5% and 10% Slab Rate would be great for someone belonging to such Income Tax Slab Rates.
