Alternatives To Going To College. Avoid Student Debt | FinCalC


It's not necessary to go to college to get a job and make for a living. It is just a trend, not a necessity.

We go to best colleges around the world in order to get the best jobs. But what we don't realize is we will be working for someone else in the end. Though working for someone else isn't that bad, but you will be working on someone else's orders and routine, not on your own. Ultimately, you work in order to make for a living. It can be done without a College Degree as well.

There are many people around the world who leave their college in the middle or don't go to college at all. They are still doing well to make for a living. What are the alternatives? Let's see.


1. Starting a Business

This is one of the best alternatives if you don't want to follow the trend and go to College. Start a Business.

First of all, think about an idea that will work, analyze the demand of your business idea, do some trial and error and scale it based on the demand. 

Starting a business is one of the great options for people who would want to do something on their own. People who don't want to work for others, but themselves.

Study about customer's needs, marketing, promotions, hiring people and you can scale your business tremendously. It doesn't need a College Degree.


2. Improve your Skills

If you realize what you are good at, and improve your skills in that domain, you don't need any other job to make for a living. Work on your skills.

Become a freelancer. You can learn coding, creating websites, working for clients without any college degree. 

Start writing and Improve your writing skills. There are many clients who want articles to be written by good writers. There is always a demand in some or the other fields.


"The important thing is to start. Start whatever you feel like doing. With consistency you will gain momentum, and with momentum you will get the push to work on your skills everyday."


3. Take Classes at Home

Another alternative is to take classes at home. Teach others what you know. This will improve your skills as well. 

Start a tutorial series at home or online, gather some young people and teach them what you know. Share your knowledge with them. 

Charge low fees initially and with time you will gain more experience in that domain. More experience results in more better opportunities in your favor.

Learn to manage your time effectively and work on your side hustles as well.
